Why Is My Raw Hair Extensions Frizzy?Updated 10 days ago
Frizz is a natural characteristic of raw hair. Since raw hair is unprocessed and collected directly from a single donor, it retains the real texture of human hair, and that includes the occasional frizz, especially in curlier or coarser textures.
If you're seeing more frizz than expected, it may be a sign that your extensions need moisture or gentler handling. Here’s how to manage frizz without compromising your raw bundles.

1. Start With Proper Hydration
Wash and condition your extensions before installation or styling:
Use a hydrating, sulfate-free shampoo like Kera Care Hydrating Shampoo.
Follow with a moisture-rich conditioner (e.g., Kera Care Hydrating Detangling Conditioner).
Comb through the strands gently using our Hair Extension Brush Comb Set while hair is wet.
Rinse with cool water to seal the cuticle.
2. Always Air Dry
Heat or over-manipulating wet strands causes frizz. After washing:
Air dry the extensions completely — avoid towel rubbing or using a blow dryer.
Let curls or waves set in their natural pattern.
Never style or brush the hair while it’s still wet or partially dry.
For defined curls, try our Soft Kinky Curl Weft and scrunch with a curl cream or lightweight oil while wet.
3. Nighttime Care Matters
Frizz often forms overnight due to friction and dryness. Protect your hair before bed:
Wear a No-Slip Satin Bonnet to minimize friction.
Sleep on satin pillowcases for added protection.
Braid or twist hair loosely to maintain texture and prevent tangling.
4. Is It Frizz or Natural Texture?
Raw hair varies from donor to donor. Sometimes, what looks like frizz is actually the hair’s natural texture expressing itself, especially in humid conditions or after coloring.
