How Long Do Weft Hair Extensions Last?Updated 6 hours ago

When investing in quality hair, it’s only natural to ask: How long do weft hair extensions really last? The answer depends on two key things—hair quality and how you care for it.

At SL Raw Virgin Hair, we offer both raw weft extensions and premium virgin hair wefts that are ethically sourced and designed for reuse. Our raw hair bundles, in particular, are known for their exceptional longevity and natural behavior.

Lifespan of Weft Hair Extensions

  • Per install: 6 to 8 weeks (before takedown and reinstall)

  • Raw hair lifespan: Up to 24 months (with proper care and storage)

  • Virgin hair lifespan: Up to 12 months (depending on care and frequency of styling)

Tip: On average, clients reuse their wefts for 3 to 5 installs depending on how they’re maintained.

However, the following textured wefts are not raw, though they are still made from premium-quality human hair:

These options are ideal for clients seeking volume, texture, and durability, but they do require a slightly gentler care routine to maintain their shape and softness.
